This was a very interesting article. I would be very interested to see a Princess Cow :) We too are always interested in Princess themed products.

@Joseph: See, my wife isn't into the whole princess thing so my daughter is proof that some women are hard wired for girly, pink, sparkly things.

That little airplane is cute - I'm sure my girls would wear it out!

Ahhh, that is awesome! My wife is obsessed with all things princess just as much as my little one.

As for the airplane, maybe this would do?

Being just a girl of 16, it was fun reading all the above-written. I have to tell you, that I and even many of the most "posh" girls at school, still love princesses, fairies and anything girly-pink-heart-covered-disney-thing. I personally like classic Disney more, but it's not a shame, for any schoolgirl, to say that her room is overflown with princess things. I don't know other girls' motive, besides it being cute (and since all the new fairies and so on are even hotter than they used to make them, if you've noticed), but Princesses are a kind of mania for me, for three reasons: 1) it makes my room pretty, pink, and mine, 2) I always try to be my age as much as possible, and that's one way, I think and 3) I kind of miss all the princessy romance I see at their movies and I'm one of the million girls on this planet, who would die to have all those disney stories made true, with us as starring princesses...

My wife and elected not to get our daughter's ears pierced. At 9 months, she's still somewhat androgynous, so she's got princess everything. We still get an occasional color-blind person ask awkwardly about the baby.

BTW, we want her to ask for the earrings and make it something of a rite of passage for her. It may hurt more, but she's a tough customer and only getting tougher. She'll be OK.

My daughter is 16. She is princess crazy. Apparently she is Aurora (sleeping beauty, how apt) and her friends are other princess as suits them, red head is Ariel... yada yada.

Seems that kiddy things are uncool until about 15 and then it is all cool again.

Kids are weird.

hah! Wait 'til the Princesses-in-Wings catches on. Right now the princess-drive is geared towards making all princesses fairies, starting from Barbie! I have a baby boy, but I'd love to have a fairie Princess Barbie of my own (Princess Mania lasts for the rest of their lives, they just pretend they got over it at 9 because it's 'baby-ish" already)!

@Dad of Divas: Yep - I'm going to be in your shoes a few years from now. I was hoping you were going to tell me that the princess craze ends when they are about 5 years old. (Yes - I think the middle princess is Giselle from Enchanted). It is funny how girls are drawn to girl sort of toys...we haven't done anything to steer her in any direction, but she just loves girly things.
@Chadwick: Thank you - I hope I can hold on to some sort of masculinity after my house is overflowing with estrogen. So you're telling me that I have at least 6-7 MORE YEARS of princess maina? Geez...
@OhCaptain: How old are your girls? Yea - not much hurts more than stepping on something in the middle of the night...why do they make toys so hard anyway?

My girls used to be all about the princesses. Now, not so much. The Littlest Pet Shop now litters the floor and causes great pain in the middle of the night when someone needs to be put back to bed. Ouch.

Long Live Princess Cinderella!!! My daughters are 7 & 9 now & princess mania has not died at all. In fact, I this it has gotten worse over the last few years. Just about everything in house house has become "princessified" - by way of making it pink. In fact I had to make a room in my house where no pink or purple was allowed just so I could keep some semblance of my masculinity in my home.

That said - I wouldn't trade it for anything. Good luck with the new baby coming soon.

Oh yes, I hear you here...with 2 girls...princesses are key to survival for this dad and my eldest like yours also looks for the princess world to continue beyond where it currently is... she not only likes the tried and true old movies but the nw Enchanted movie is aso a new favorite (is that Giselle from Enchanted who is the new middle "princess" that is showed on the picture?). Consumerism at its best but I tell you as a Dad of girls it is hard to steer her away from the princess mania...especially being from a family where my mother worked for Disney in the past. Good luck with Girls and the Princess-mania - There will definitely be more to choose from as the marketers for Disney continue to think of new ways to capture our childrens' attention!
